Filming

Today's Filming was Planned to meet at long road at 9 am, I arrived around 8 am and took some photo's around college. It took us over hour to wait for the actors to arrive and also me and Yasmin while waiting was locating for a somewhere to film and asking for permission and what time of the day we could film in each room if needed.

We asked the drama block they said we could film in the afternoon, this was a good location but my group would much prefer to shot the footage behind the stage really. So we had to ask the reception on advice and for permission, we was aloud to film at the back of the stage if only we had supervision and kindly Steve (class lecturer) kindly supervised us and helped us out with permission and lighting.

We set up the light and gathered everyone in shot Yasmin was standing near the front so she could be seen lip syncing, we asked our actors to dance clap their hands. I filmed the footage of everyones feet tapping by placing the camera low on the ground and panning across, and framed the top of peoples head and hands waving to the music. Also we had shots of everyone running towards the camera smiling to give the effect they are entering a party scene and are excited.

In the afternoon I was helping out with Tina, Rob and Emma's group, they wanted to film the tea party scene with all the actors in. I dressed into my long flowery dress, and a flower hair slide I thought this would of helped with the band look and fairy tea party scene. When the group was able to film they decided not to film because of the weather decided to change. So I did not actually act in the scene they filmed that day.

Later on after my group and their group had finished filming for the day, and I stayed around for the rest of the afternoon at long road premisses to take photo's of nature around the wooded area and pond area, and beautiful things that just caught my eye. This is to help me with my

poster design, because I think I should redo my poster with the fireworks and create another poster for Feist with nature photo's and compare my first poster with my second poster. I wanted the poster to represent my digipack a lot of natural imagery so it looks more in place with the digipack and similar style.

To add onto this post about the photo's for my second poster idea, I took photo's around Ely at in my free time this week. I found some nice locations and the weather was lovely so the photo's I took of some plants in a public garden walk and tree's looked so delicate and beautiful with the light and sunshine.

A very nice photo I took which would look nice for the poster maybe, was a tree that had grown as if it was pollarded, the trunks split into a trinity of limbs with a small embellished puddle shaped like a challis, It was reflecting the sunlight and the leaves. It was exquisite but I am not to sure if I will use it for the poster as it would need to be more eye grabbing and more colourful

Interesting camera work (Music Video)

I like the editing of this music video and the lighting, it begins with a short opening that just has action involved

with no music just sound effects, The camera shots that are used work really well there is this shot that I really

liked with the camera panning along maybe in a tunnel underground as the kids walked past.

Thursday filming

Today Yasmin is absent from college today so are limited to what we can film today,

also the weather is not so promising (cloudy) to film the cut away shots as for our music video is meant to be bright and happy. We can film Rob our actor playing the guitar however my group thought about filming it in the other location here we filmed tuesday footage but we may not be able to due to not booking the room in advance so we will have to find another location to film Rob somewhere.

I believe we should be really organized before friday and to notify our selves with what locations we are actually using so then we know whether to organize a time slot to use them.

Me and Jahmal in second period filmed Rob our other actor playing the guitar near long road pond and tree's. We took close-up's and long shots and experimented with other motion shots. Also we thought about how we will frame the shots such as just him lip syncing or just the guitar and his feet tapping in focus.

Overall todays filming went well and we had enough time to film the shots we wanted, also if I would change anything maybe would of took more camera footage in different location, and one of Rob and Yasmin together.

My Draft Poster

This is my draft version of the poster for Feist The Reminder, I edited it on photoshop, I used a photo which I took at the HaverHill fireworks show, I was looking for a photo that was catchy and something that represented the artist Feist how personally she appears quite lively and entertaining.

Tuesday Filming

On tuesday we filmed our footage of Yasmin performing in her different costumes, our location where we was supposed to film was behind the longroad stage which my group preferred because it has wall art from other students and would have made the space look smaller and draw it in when we filmed the party scene (because we wanted to give it the illusion that it is a crowded environment. But because of health and safety reasons students are not allowed to film any footage behind the stage. So this location had to be changed. 

So for tuesday shoot we had to find another location to film Yasmin's costume changes. We looked around in the music and drama area and we asked for permission if we could use a music room that was empty at the time, we had permission just for this one time and had to be quick before a lesson started in there, however we would have to book in advance if we want to use this room again any time this week. 

It was a really good location we had a nice setup in the background there was a black piano and a nice drum kit which Yasmin stood in front of the instruments. 

We filmed for about one hour and experimented with different shots with the camera, and when me and my group come to edit next week we will select the shots that look effective.

Wednesday: Cutaways or blog work and reviews 

Thursday: Cutaways shots of nature, also Rob (actor) on the guitar and yasmin lip syncing and dancing

Friday: Out side filming also studio performance to be filmed

Inspirational + Visual Cutaways

For the music video me and my group were thinking of having cut away shots of nature, over the half term I also filmed interesting things that caught my eye. This little video I made helps to capture what I was thinking of cutting away to in the music video, just little shots like this which I think could create more of a rhythm because then we can cut through into more shots which will keep up a pace.

The Production Process Digi Pak Draft

This is the first attempt of what the actual Cd looked like then I used that style of text I used on the other designs and it made it look more like a Cd image. I also used this rainbow tool which I used around the rim of the Cd to make it look shiny.

I pasted a cd template on to the cd panel and then edited the photo on the sun setting,

I like this photo that I took outside the college window after lesson when the sun was setting,

In this panel there will a information booklet and I changed the style of text for this as well I like this because The way I edited it the mixture of colours and it is not to over powering it is quite relaxing to focus on. I wanted the digipak to have calming colours inside and more bolder outstanding colours on the front cover.

Also this image I edited at college of Yasmin jumping in the air and the tree's I edited in the background I thought it looked effective for the front cover as for it is different, I gave the digipak the same style of text throughout and moved the title Feist In between Yasmin's hands in the air. Also the new change to the text means you can now read the title so much easier it stands out to buyers also.

After

Before

I was playing around with the tools and effects and I changed the effect of the text and it looked really nice and the font was more suitable for a digipak.

I then put copy right symbol on to the back cover and TM symbol

I have typed the track list out I thought red looked nice however I then began to change the numbers to the colour yellow and thought the text would look more presentable in yellow as well.

These are all the chosen images that I have edited and have now placed them in order.

This is another image of the river that I edited, I have decided to use for the Inside left panel that will provide the buyers with an information booklet about the artist Feist.

This is the inside right of the digipak I used the photo I took near a river and I edited in on photoshop, I thought it was a nice image to be shown when you take out the cd.

Half Term Break

In the half term I have been on outings around fenland areas, rivers, fields, and village strolls.

I have taken this as the opportunity to take some photo's for my digipak and advertand filming some nature cut away shots for the music video. I have produced short little photography video on imovie to show some of the photo's I have taken in different places.

In todays lesson me and Jahmal filmed the studio footage however because Yasmin was not at college today we could not show lip syncing in the practice footage. To create the feel that there is more people I jumped into some of the shots and danced while Jahmal filmed and while I filmed he danced in some shots too. This footage was meant to represent some of shots from the storyboard like the tapping feet to the music and the hands waving and people dancing closely smiling. The we edited the footage quickly in little time but it is only practice shots so not focuing on the quality just wanted this short piece to reflect the concept of what we want to follow in our music video.

Thinking about my DigiPak

This is the first Photo I used for the front cover of the digipak, I thought it would be nice to paste a photo of Yasmin on to this background,

I used this image of Yasmin jumping in the air because I thought it represented the atmosphere of happiness and dreamy, So I cut her out using the lasso tool and pasted her figure onto the background of the tree's and the sky, then I added an effect to the background like a dark shadow effect and then I added an effect to give Yasmin's figure s shadow as well but with a tint of yellow so you can see her clearly.

This image was for the back I thought it was nice because when I add the tracks on to the back cover it will look like she is looking down at the titles. Also the sky and clouds in the background really capture my eye.

In todays lesson I have been thinking about my digipak and have used the images from the photography shoot of Yasmin, In photoshop I have edited two picture so far for the front cover it is just a practice making and they may not even be the final photos I want to include on my digipak.

Music Video Interest

I really like this music video because of the lighting mostly and effects, also the planning and creation is well respected by me, I think it just is enjoyable to watch it is entertaining and refreshing. It is a very unique music video production it does not represent near to any other music video I can think of that is what makes it special and more to appreciate.

This is how they made the music video it is a very interesting short video about the production and very inspiring.

This type of music genre and this type of music video does not seem like they would piece together, the performance reminds me of video art and it is beautiful and something I rarely notice in music videos of today, Being stereo typical of this type of music genre it is telling me about this song its out going party song and I would expect woman performers dancing to the music in costumes at a party, however to my surprise the music was pieced together with something magical and something visually interesting to watch for once!
