Today at Coleridge me and Jahmal continued editing the groups music video, there is a shot of Yasmin sitting on the piano in a white room and to strengthen this visual idea we wanted to play around with techniques to make it look more effective. We imagined the white wall being faded out completely and to replace it another clip of footage like tree's to over lap it. It would then see sense of Yasmin sitting on a piano in the wood's. We had help with how to create this visual concept we had.
To change it to how we would like it to be we selected:
1. Effects
2. Video filters
3. Matte
4. eight point garbage matte
This video filter gave us the flexibility to pull each point in direction so the white background would disappear out of focus. Using filter we smoothened the edges. Changing to a green colour it helped to hide the white background.
Then we sorted out the footage and reflected on how it looked, I thought it needed some feedback on how to improve it and also we needed to decide how it should look after we tidied the clips. I thought it looked nice with the fact that Yasmin appeared on a piano with background of tree's. But some views about this experiment we tried they preferred the footage before, which was faded shots of tree's in the piano and behind as background.
I think that this experiment would of looked really good if we just edited more and tried different ideas with it, however Jahmal had preferred the old idea with the fades. The old idea look's really nice as well just maybe needs some adjustments.
However me and Jahmal decided to put the music video back to how it was similar with the fades and deleted the new idea.
